Lily & John

24th July 2027 - Wrocław, Poland

Our Story

Lily and John matched on Hinge in June 2025, and when John found out Lily was flying to Poland in just two days, they decided to meet that very same day. They wandered along to Lou Lou's ice cream parlour in South Queensferry, and what started as a quick meet-up turned into hours of easy conversation.

It didn't stop there. They kept talking all through her trip, and the moment she landed back home, they planned a second date. From there, things simply clicked.

They were inseparable after that, filling their days together with the kind of moments that felt effortless. In February 2026, they took their first holiday as a couple to Paris. One evening, with the Eiffel Tower sparkling above them, John proposed, and Lily said yes.

Things to see and do in Wrocław

Market square and old town

Wrocław Market Square is one of Poland's largest and liveliest squares, serving as the vibrant heart of this European metropolis. Surrounded by historic monuments and charming architecture, it pulses with energy day and night, drawing locals and visitors into its lively atmosphere.

Ostrów Tumski and the Cathedral

Ostrów Tumski, or Cathedral Island, is Wrocław's oldest district, dating to the 10th century. Reached via the pedestrian Tumski Bridge from Wyspa Piasek, it centers on the Gothic Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, surrounded by charming museums, monuments, gardens, and historic churches.

UNESCO Multimedia Fountain

The Multimedia Fountain at Centennial Hall is one of Europe's largest attractions of its kind. Set near the Pergola and Japanese Garden, it dazzles nightly with 300 water jets, lights, and music. Summer brings themed shows, from classical to electronic, for an unforgettable family experience.

Wroclaw Zoo

Zoo Wrocław, Poland's largest and oldest zoo, offers an unforgettable wildlife experience. Its standout attraction, the Afrykarium, is the world's only oceanarium dedicated solely to African fauna, showcasing over 350 species of fish and mammals across 21 pools and aquariums.

Panorama of Raclawice

Panorama Racławicka, housed in a 30-meter rotunda in Wrocław, is one of Poland's most treasured artworks. Measuring 114 by 15 meters, this remarkable painting vividly depicts the 1794 Battle of Racławice, drawing visitors into a striking historical journey brought to life through art.

Aquapark Wrocław

Open since 2008, Aquapark Wrocław is one of Europe's top water parks. It features multiple pools, thrilling slides, and a wave pool. Guests can unwind in the sauna zone or wellness spa, while a dedicated kids' area with mini slides and toys keeps younger visitors entertained too.

Wrocław Dwarves

Wrocław's famous dwarves are small bronze figurines, 20 to 30 cm tall, that have appeared on the city's streets since 2005. They're a major tourist draw, with visitors mapping out routes to find them. As Poland's third largest city, Wrocław now hosts around 1,040 of these charming statues.

Things to see in lower Silesia

Książ castle

Książ Castle, once a Piast fortress above the Pełcznica gorge, is now Lower Silesia's top attraction — known for its gardens, stables, and palm house. Nearby trails lead through Książ National Park's arboretum and gorge reserve, south to a lesser-known, romantically storied second castle.

Kłodzko fortress

Kłodzko Fortress, the region's top attraction, stands on the site of an Austrian castle and was rebuilt by the Prussians in the 18th century. Visitors can enjoy city and mountain views from the bastions, try artillery training, and explore over a kilometer of underground counter-mine tunnels.

Karpacz

Karpacz, at the foot of Śnieżka in the Giant Mountains, draws visitors with the unique wooden Wang Church and the Museum of Toys. Families enjoy Fairy Tales Park, Lego exhibitions, and Centrum Kolorowa. Nature lovers can visit Wild Waterfall, the Łomnica dam, or hike 90 km of scenic mountain trails.

Registry

Instead of traditional gifts, we'd love any contributions toward our honeymoon in Rio de Janeiro.

We know that asking for cash can feel unusual if you're not used to it, so we wanted to explain. In Poland, giving cash in an envelope, called koperta, is simply how it's done at weddings. It's a well-established custom, not a wrapped gift in sight, and nobody thinks twice about it.

To be clear, this is entirely optional. There's no expectation to contribute, and just having you there to celebrate with us is more than enough.
